What is Thikr?
A desktop app bringing together Quran reading, Khatmah tracking, reminders, favorites and Share Studio, so remembrance stays close during work or study.
How can I download it?
From the Download page: one build for Macs with Apple Silicon and one for Intel, on macOS 13 or later. Drag the app to Applications and follow the steps for opening it the first time.
Why does a warning appear the first time I open it?
Because this release is not yet signed by Apple. The app does not connect to the internet or send your data. Open it with the steps on the Download page, without turning off any protection, and you can compare your file’s SHA-256 with the published one.
Is Thikr free?
Yes. Features are available without subscriptions, advertisements or a mandatory account. This website has no checkout or donation requests.
Do I need an account?
Core use does not require sign-in. Preferences, reading progress and favorites are stored on your device.
Does it work on Windows?
Not yet. Thikr is available now for macOS; a Windows version will be announced here when it is ready.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. The whole app works offline. You need the internet only to download it, to open an external link, or to write to us.
Does it run after I close the window?
Yes, when background operation is enabled. Control it from the menu bar. Quitting the app stops reminders; do not expect notifications while the computer is off.
Does receiving a verse count as reading it?
No. Delivered verses and confirmed reading are tracked separately. You confirm your own progress and can align reminders with your reading position.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your computer: preferences, Khatmah progress, favorites and reading positions. This release never connects to our servers and sends no usage data. The Privacy page has the details.
I have version 1.2.0. Will I lose my data?
No. Replace the old app with the new one in Applications; your settings and Khatmah position stay as they are.
Are the adhkar reviewed?
The Quran text comes from a verified Mushaf and is never altered. Sunnah adhkar come from Hisn al-Muslim; they were included with the project owner’s approval and their scholarly review is not complete yet, so only verified references are shown, and anything awaiting a scholarly decision is left out. If you see an error, write to us from the Support page.
How do I get updates?
There are no automatic updates in this release. New releases are published on the Download page: download the new one and replace the old app in Applications; your data stays.
